Today in Politics:The government has announced the names of leaders who will head seven all-party delegations to various countries, aiming to rally international support following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.

The delegations will be led by leaders including Shashi Tharoor (Congress), Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda (BJP), Sanjay Kumar Jha (JD-U), Kanimozhi (DMK), Supriya Sule (NCP-SP), and Shrikant Shinde (Shiv Sena).

However, this move has stirred internal unrest within the Congress party. Soon after the announcement, Congress made it public that it had suggested a different set of names, such as Anand Sharma, Gaurav Gogoi, Syed Naseer Hussain, and Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Surprisingly, none of these names were included.

Adding to the friction, Shashi Tharoor, who has been selected to lead a delegation, was not recommended by the party. Some Congress leaders believe Tharoor’s recent remarks on Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor appeared too supportive of the government, leading to internal tension over his inclusion. Other Congress members like Manish Tiwari, Amar Singh, and Salman Khurshid—also not on the party’s list—have been included as well, deepening the rift.
